The Trustees are delighted that the fundraising effort has recently passed through the £250,000 landmark!
We are extremely grateful to ALL our generous supporters, sponsors and donors for their generosity in helping to get us to this tremendous position. With this milestone reached the Trustees are redoubling their efforts to achieve the target of bringing robotic surgery to the three shires!
ROBOCAP is a charity aimed at providing “Robotics Assisted Surgery” in the Three Shires of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Worcestershire
Over 35,000 men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer every year in England and Wales, 800+ of these are in the Three Shires of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Worcestershire. Almost everyone knows someone who has died from, or is suffering from Prostate Cancer.
There are different forms of treatment for Prostate cancer, the most up to date and advanced being “Robotic Assisted Surgery”. This state-of-the-art form of keyhole surgery offers surgeons superior 3D High Definition imaging and magnification, enhanced dexterity, greater precision and ergonomic comfort for the optimal performance of minimally invasive surgery. This means less pain after the operation with minimal blood loss, quicker recovery after surgery and reduced incidence of complications.
